Hotel stay was fair but loads of fun in the area

Setting beautiful. Hotel old but clean.

Shared a geyser so had a cold shower first night. Breakfast on both morning was long as our order was messed up both mornings. Waited about 30/45 minutes for our breakfast. Waitress apologized! Di’s offer is a free drink on second morning mistakes!

Very pretty old style hotel.

loved the dinners. Lady in charge of the kitchen is excellent and pleasant. Staff very friendly.

breakfast could have muffins croissants or scones instead of government brown or white bread. Filter coffee should be available for dinners and not only for breakfast. We should be told that it is actually 47 km on a very rough dirt road prior to booking.

Countryside hotel along the banks of the Breede River.

A lovely countryside hotel along the banks of the Breede River. Delicious breakfast and dinner. Enjoyed being able to rent a padel boat to take out on the river.

The hotel feels a bit dated, but if you know to expect that, then it okay. The rooms are still very neat and clean.

Know what to expect given the reviews amd price. Not very comfortable especially for tall people as the beds are short.

The personnel was very friendly. The food more or less between okay and disappointing. A roast meat was boiled meat other dishes quite nice

The interior was totally worn out and very outdated. Like a time travel far back into the the previous century. The rooms very dark and annoying was that only one of the lamps worked. It was dark age.

Comfort, tranquility, peace and quiet. A place you wish you could just move into and call home.

Imagine having a river view, delectable meals and wonderfully pleasant staff. This is Malgas Hotel. Riverboats, peace and quiet surrounded by nature, and staff to meet your every need. A night cap next to a warm cracking fire is just what you need to end off a wonderful day before tucking in to your warm bed for a night of rest for your body and soul.

The idea of leaving behind such tranquility and return to the hustle and bustle of the city is the only negative thought. Apart from missing the lovely Malva pudding the Chef serves up and the knowledge that you have added a pound or two.

Most enjoyable.

The food was all pretty good but too much to do it proper justice. We were unable to have breakfast after the huge meal the night before.

Not much! They could do with mugs instead of cups in the rooms and they should provide milk for tea, Coffee creamer is not suitable for tea.

Good old-fashioned, comfortable, family-friendly hospitality in a quaint and quiet location.

Generous delicious English breakfast served on the beautiful sunny terrace overlooking the river. Cereal collection not that exciting. Dinner very tasty and ample food. 5 courses is really more than one can eat. So family friendly for us with two small boys: indoor and outdoor children’s play areas. Beds were comfortable and room clean and comfy.

Our breakfast table could have been better serviced with salt, pepper, serviettes, etc - we had to go fetch these ourselves.

Food was very mediocre for vegetarians. Smoke from next door guests smoking came into our room from their patio. Management should create a certain outside area for smoking
